Computer Forensic Investigation and Employment LawComputer Forensic Investigations and Employment LawBy Advanced Surveillance Group, Licensed Private Investigators
Our computer forensics practice was established under the direct supervision of our forensics director and noted computer forensics expert, Kevin Ripa. Mr. Ripa is a noted authority and speaker on computer forensics and computer related investigations like internet profiling and email tracing. This practice area has grown significantly since its inception, and the national reputation of the firm has grown with its size. Beginning with employers in Michigan, Florida and Texas, we have aggressively entered the employer defense arena. One of the keys to our success in this area is ability to quickly come to an employers location and make a forensically sound image of the hard drive of an employee that this employer is terminating who may pose a threat to the company. We then retain this image and hold it in our evidence locker if and until our client needs to have a complete forensics analysis. This gives the client a sort of evidence insurance policy in the event that litigation ensues. This is an excellent approach not only regarding problem terminations, but is also very prudent for exiting high level executives. As more and more employees leave on their own accord, but end up trying to fight non-compete agreements or are in a position to take vital company data with them when they leave, A.S.G. is available to conduct our forensic computer investigations on computers associated with these departed individuals. We are also heavily involved in computer forensics aimed at rooting out criminal activity within an organization. Because we are licensed private investigators and not computer consultants, we are able to provide our detective-client privilege to our computer forensic cases, giving our clients an additional level protection they cannot find elsewhere. We have helped to successfully defend both private and public employers in class action law suits and complex litigation in federal and state courts. Our forensic computer investigations are likewise heavily involved in the defense of wrongful discharge cases, contract and commission claims, implied employment contract claims, slander and libel claims, negligence and negligent retention claims, and whistleblower claims. We also have an extensive practice prosecuting and defending trade secret, breach of fiduciary duty cases, and more. Our investigators regularly provide expert testimony about their forensic data investigations in courts literally from coast to coast. If you are an employer faced with a troubling employee termination, violation of a non-compete agreement or you suspect that an employee may be involved with some type internal fraud or theft of proprietary data, call us at 888-677-9700.
