With Orlando being such a large tourist destination, we often have cases involving people who are traveling to the Orlando / Kissimmee area who need to be investigated. For those of you who are not familiar with Orlando, below is some general information about Orlando, Orange County and Seminole County.

Miami is a unique destination where visitors can have it all - water, pristine nature and the excitement of the many theme parks including the world famous Disney World. Orlando is also one of the largest and most visited conference venues with nearly limitless hotels, restaurants and sight seeing opportunities available.

The Orlando-Kissimmee area, also known as Metro Orlando or Greater Orlando, is the state of Floridas third most populated metropolitan region, and the 28th-largest metro area in the United States. The Greater Orlando area consists of Lake, Osceola, Orange and Seminole Counties. The Orlando Area has a population of 1,861,707 according to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2004 population estimates. The size of the city of Orlando is very unusual for a metropolitan area of its size since most of the inhibitants of the area live in the suburbs and surrounding areas in Orange and Seminole counties, whereas the total population of the city proper is only 205,648 people.

The city is well known for the tourist attractions in the area, particularly the nearby Walt Disney World Resort, which is in the Reedy Creek Improvement District . Other area attractions include SeaWorld and Universal Orlando Resort. Despite being far from the main tourist attractions, downtown Orlando has recently seen much redevelopment, with many more projects currently under construction or planned. One of the oldest attractions in this area is Gatorland. Orlando sees an estimated 52 million tourists a year. Orlando is the 2nd largest city in the country for number of hotel rooms. It is a leader in medical care and research, especially at Orlando Regional Medical Center, the only statutory teaching hospital in Central Florida. The city's nickname is "The City Beautiful", though plans are underway to change this title through a local contest. Its symbol is the fountain of Lake Eola.

Like fellow Florida cities Miami and Tampa, Orlando has a large and increasing number of Hispanic residents living in the city. Orlando is home to one of the nations largest and rapidly-growing Puerto Rican communities particulary the metropolitan area. This is reflected by the abundance of Hispanic-themed restaurants and radio stations. Spanish-language music, such as reggaeton, is common on Orlando radio stations. The Orlando Magic basketball team is the only team in the NBA to have a Latin Night, which is geared towards the Hispanic population in the area. Throughout the city, many Puerto Rican flags can be found on or near buildings, including car dealerships. The city's local newspaper, The Orlando Sentinel, publishes a weekly all-Spanish newspaper called El Sentinel.

Any private investigator in Orlando or elsewhere in Florida must be licensed by the State and be able to present that license number at any time for you to verify with the state. It is illegal for anyone to provide the services of a private investigator without being licensed. If you encounter an Orlando private investigator who does not have a license, we encourage you to contact the Bureau of Regulation and Enforcement at Post Office Box 6687, Tallahassee, Florida 32314-6687 or by telephone at 850-245-5499 to report this activitiy.
